From the Editor

Welcome to the first issue of The Retro Review — a magazine for stores that never existed.

Every week, we receive letters asking the same thing: "What if my favourite brand had been around in the 1970s?" It is a question that deserves more than an answer. It deserves a full-colour spread, a feature article, and possibly a centrefold. We have done our best to provide all three.

In this issue, you will find stores from across the retail spectrum — from hi-fi shops to fashion boutiques to corner chemists — all lovingly imagined in warm Kodachrome tones and wood-paneled interiors. None of them are real. All of them should be.
